India's Hidden War - Resource Conflict
This photo essay on what Foreign Policy (FP) Magazine calls "India's Hidden War" in the state of Jharkhand, eastern India. According to FP, Jharkhand has an estimated 2,500 off-the-books mining operations, an underground industry that has both built sympathy for the state's Maoist rebels and provided a source of income for their rebellion.
The visual essay reveals the hardships of the miner's life for this cause.
