In this assignment I wanted to gain a better understand the Indian and Pakistani conflict over Kashmir. I found this video series to be very clear, informative, and incorporating many viewpoints. The video has five parts, each about 10 minutes long, if you have limited time, I suggest the last half of part 2 and the last half of part 5.

The dispute started with India’s independence in 1947 with both countries disputing the boarder and demanding the entire territory. The conflict seems to be fueled by religious tensions between the Hindus and Muslim, with radicals on both sides. Along with India and Pakistan’s conflict, there is now a separatist movement seeking an independent Kashmir state. This is such a complicated issue and it doesn’t seem that any side will agree to a boundary. Does anyone have any good links to suggested strategies for resolution?
Thanks!

I do not think that separating Kashmir as an independent state is the solution for the problems. Kashmir is a beautiful state and the residents there are suffering for years due to terrorism. I hope that the issues in Kashmir can be resolved so the residents can live peacefully and make a good living from tourism.
